End-of-life IT disposal
Old computers gone. Data gone with them. Free pickup of computers, laptops and office electronics across Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. Every drive wiped to the NIST standard, serials logged, certificate in your hand.
Every quote starts the same way: a photo of one machine and a rough count. You'll hear back the same day.
How it works
Send a photo of one machine and a rough count of how many there are. That's all we need to confirm we can take it and tell you when we can come.
You point, we carry. Offices, homes, storage units, back rooms. Nothing needs to be boxed or sorted first.
Every drive is wiped or destroyed, every serial logged. A certificate of sanitization lands in your inbox.
What actually happens to your data
Every drive comes out of the machine and gets its serial number written down before anything else happens.
Hard drives get a verified overwrite. SSDs and NVMe drives get the drive's own firmware erase instead, because on flash an overwrite can't reach 7 to 28% of the chip.
That's NIST SP 800-88, the federal standard, and it's the method your auditor will ask about by name.
We don't drill drives and call it destruction. NIST names drilling as inadequate, and a certificate claiming something that didn't happen is worse than no certificate.
Then you get a certificate listing every drive, its serial, the method used and how it was verified. If you need physical destruction, a certified shredding partner does it and issues their own certificate.
| Model | Serial | Method | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| WD Blue 500GB | WCC2E••••• | Overwrite | Verified |
| Samsung 860 EVO | S3Z9N••••• | Secure erase | Verified |
| Samsung PM981 | S4GJN••••• | Sanitize | Verified |
What it costs
Pickup, drive wipe and certificate are free. Broken monitors, TVs and printers are $10 each. That's the list.

Minimum: 3 computers.

Fewer? Text us anyway. We can often make an exception for gaming PCs and higher-end machines, even a few years old.
Not sure how old something is? Send a photo of the label and we'll tell you.
Mecklenburg County Solid Waste (980-314-3867) can tell you where to drop them.
What we take
Pickup is free for homes and businesses alike. We need at least three computers to make a trip. If you have fewer, text us anyway, because we can often make an exception for gaming PCs and higher-end machines, even a few years old.
Equipment we collect is reused or recycled through licensed channels. Nothing goes to a landfill that doesn't have to. North Carolina law bans it anyway.
For businesses
North Carolina G.S. 75-64 makes your business responsible for personal information that leaves on a hard drive, and requires you to render it unreadable before disposal. If it gets out, the Attorney General has to be notified.
We wipe every drive to NIST SP 800-88, log make, model and serial, verify the result, and issue a certificate of sanitization you keep on file. Certified physical destruction is available on request through our shredding partner.
That paperwork is included. It isn't an upsell.
| Hard drives | Verified overwrite |
|---|---|
| SATA SSDs | The drive's own firmware erase |
| NVMe drives | The drive's own firmware sanitize |
| Physical destruction | On request, through a certified shredding partner |
Small offices, dental and medical practices, law firms, property managers clearing a unit. We come to you, usually within the week, and you deal with one person start to finish.

Yes. Working monitors 24" or bigger are no extra charge, and so are working smart TVs from 50" up to 65", as long as the remote is with it. Anything bigger than 65", text us first and we'll let you know.
The only screens that carry a charge are the ones that don't work: any monitor or TV that's cracked, dim or dead, at any size, is $10 each. Tell us roughly what's there or send a photo, and you'll know the total before we come. No screen is ever a surprise line on an invoice.
We don't take CRTs, the old, deep tube-style monitors and TVs. Mecklenburg County Solid Waste (980-314-3867) can tell you where to drop them.
Most jobs happen within the week, and for a business clear-out we'll usually give you two or three times to choose from the same day you ask. Same-day and after-hours pickups cost nothing extra when the schedule is open, evenings and weekends included. That's the part the big operators can't do. They have routes and minimums, and we have a phone that one person answers.
Pickup is free, and so are the drive wipe and the certificate. Broken monitors, TVs and printers are $10 each. We need at least three computers per pickup, though we can often make an exception for gaming PCs and higher-end machines. We don't take equipment made in 2013 or earlier, or CRTs, or loose batteries. That's the whole price list. There's no fuel surcharge, no paperwork fee and no charge for same-day or after-hours when the schedule is open.
A battery that's still inside a laptop comes with the laptop. That's normal and there's no charge. Loose lithium batteries, battery packs and UPS batteries we can't take. There's no legal way for a small operator to store or ship them in any quantity, and they're the single biggest cause of recycling-facility fires. Call Mecklenburg County Solid Waste at 980-314-3867 and ask where to drop them. They run the household hazardous waste program.
Who you're dealing with
If I'm not sure about something, I'll tell you that instead of guessing.
I'm Daniel. I'm 23, I live in Charlotte, and ZDCT E-Waste Removal & Destruction is mine. I answer the phone, I drive, I carry the boxes, and I wipe the drives myself. There's no dispatcher and no call center in another state.
I taught myself this. I've been working on computer hardware for years, so I know what's actually wrong with a machine when I see one, and I read the data-sanitization standard properly rather than copying what the last guy's certificate said.
